Starlog 456, Day…Ah I am not sure exactly what day of the
mission it is.
It’s p-day again. This was another week. It was super long for lots of reasons. Tuesday we had to do some things in the
morning and then we worked. And then it
was Wednesday and we had to go do immigration papers for my companion because
he is new and then you guessed it, we worked!
And then on Thursday, in the morning, we had a conference with Elder
Bragg. It was ok. It was basically a recap of the conference we
had with Elder Renlund. He said all the
same things again and even used some of the same stories.
We worked a little bit after that which was cool because we
got a reference for someone’s cousin in our ward called Emilse. She is somehow related to the wife of our
mission leader. She had a second coming
dream. Our mission leader then sent her
a very specific set of 3 scriptures in 2 Nephi that explained exactly what her
dream was. So then she wanted to talk to
missionaries. So that was cool. I don’t think there are a lot of stories like
that in the world. (“Why did you get baptized?”
“I had a second coming dream.”)
We are teaching her right now. It
is kind of complicated but she already read 10 chapters of the Book of
Mormon. It is kind of hard for her to
pray for some reason but we are working on it.
She came to church and she accepted a baptismal date. In the first lesson she asked if she could be
baptized twice. Our mission leader
explained that kids don’t need to be baptized because they don’t have sins so
she needed to be baptized by proper authority.
She will probably get baptized but I don’t know if she will get baptized
while I am still here or after.
The other cool thing that happened this week was we had a
Family Home Evening with members and they actually brought people that weren’t
members! Maybe the first time in the
whole mission that has actually happened to me.
So that was really cool! They had
3 friends there. None of them actually
live in our area but we taught them about the Prodigal Son and the Book of
Mormon!
We also finally learned how to drain the Baptismal font in
our building! Someone finally decided to
teach me now that I will be here for 3 more weeks!;) At least I don’t have to tape another sifter
to the end of a wooden stick and dig the dead moths out of the baptism
font!
That is pretty much everything that has happened this
week! Today is p-day and we are going to
go to a museum. See you all soon! Love you all!
