McDonalds!

Hey everybody! This week was my last week in Monterrico, and that is a pretty good thing because I was getting tired of that place. It was a tough area. But I did get to baptize two little kids. One was an investigator of the sisters in our district and she wanted the white dude to baptize her and the other was a little 8 year old of the branch who´s family is less active so he also picked me to baptize him. Elder Garcia also got to baptize a little girl in our branch who also has a less active family! So we grew the branch and the church. It was an awesome service, the only thing was, I might have forgotten to bring an extra pair of G´s for after the watery parts of baptizing. So I had to go commando for the rest of the baptism service. That was interesting. I am not planning on doing that again haha! So yeah that was a good day. Exciting. I made a recording about the rest of the week.
Another experience to share would be the last Monday we had, were we had a district meeting and all the sisters asked for blessing. Two of them asked me and two of them asked Garcia. So we gave some blessings and it was really powerful. The priesthood is real. I know that, cause I am not fluent in Spanish, and after the blessings, the sisters told me that I basically spoke fluently. So yeah, that could not be me. Super great experience.
And that brings us to Sunday in the night, when we had transfers. I had already packed mostly because president told me that I would be leaving like two weeks ago. So we got the call, and found out that I was going to Tucuman!!! Exciting. But we did not find out who would be my companion or what area I was going to... But I at least got the bus ticket and time. So today in the morning, me and Garcia went to the terminal and I got on this bus by myself in the middle of Argentina to get off somewhere I had never been before and to hopefully find people waiting there for me. The bus ride was about 7 hours long because we got stopped on the border of the provinces for control. So we all got off the bus with all our stuff, I had 3 things of luggage, and we waited in line for the policeish people to like open all our bags on stuff. I got kind of lucky because there was a worker there who spoke English, not super well, but enough to want to be my friend. So he was talking to me a lot, and like pretended to half check my bags. So that was nice. Then I got to the terminal and there were people waiting for me, so that was good. My new area is super awesome! It has a McDonalds super close to the apartment and it literally feels like America after where I was before. Also my new comp is Elder McDonald. He is a white dude, but we are getting along pretty well. I think it is going to be a good transfer!

Learning to Trust the man Upstairs

Hey everybody! This week went by crazy fast! And so did today, so sorry if this is not very long. This week, we ended up reactivating a ton of people. We had so many people in church that they had to bring out some extra water and bless it. It really gave me some excitement. Unfortunately only one was an investigator, but that is ok because the goal is to build the branch. We are going to have two little baptisms of the branch this Saturday, hopefully. I think it will happen. We have been teaching these two young ones a lot, and they are really great. Also this week we came into contact again with Juan Pablo, which was a miracle because he has been very hard to find for like 3 months. So we have a lunch appointment with him soon. Also we had a ton of great stuff going on, it was a pretty good week. I am pretty happy with it. What else, oh I got this cool chess set. And some other cool stuff. So yeah, I also had divisions this week with Elder Vavrinek, yeah he just finished his mission. But that day, we had a super powerful spirit with us. It was awesome. I felt it a lot. And It was so cool to see how things are going in a different area. Elder Garcia is pretty good, I have learned a lot about how to really be a missionary from him. It is nice. My spanish is also pretty good. Next week, I will probably send a recording. So yeah that is it, sorry it is not very long, but there are two videos of some dope rocks to make up for it. And also 5 pictures. Love you guys! "VAYA CON DIOS"--Mama Gueller

(So sorry we are having trouble with the videos but hope to get them up next week)

Learning a Lot

So for anyone who has not served a mission, that is basically just code for a hard time haha. But in reality I did learn some good things. I´ll say them at the end to leave you guys on the highs of the week instead of the lows. That said, we are not going to baptize this week. We had a few people in church, more than when I arrived are coming consistently so that is good, but still frustrating. There is one woman with 4 kids that literally have of the branch visited during the week and she still did not come to church, so that sucks. Oh also, we got a new ward mission leader, but he is actually catholic and just got baptized to marry a mormon girl. So yeah he is good and wants to work, but he believes all the churches are true and good. So yeah. This has been an interesting area. At least the time is going faster and I am learning more Spanish. There is kind of a funny story from this week, we had another conference in Salta, but with everybody. We went together to a bus terminal in a taxi with some sisters from the district, except when we got to the terminal, my companion did not have his passport, literally the only law they have here is for the bus stations. Frickin Argentina. So yeah we got there, dropped the sisters off, flew black at light speed to get the passport, got the passport and flew black faster than light speed to get to the bus on time. Good thing some taxi driver cared a lot, although he did have us pay for the passage of 8 people. So yeah, I was pretty mad at my companion for that. The conference was really good though. Two members of the quorom of the 70 arrived and gave talks with their wives. We learned a lot. So yeah it was awesome. Also apparently you need a whole bunch of permission to have a conference with your whole mission, so it will probably never happen again. I got to see Elder Batman and Elder Kanan and Elder Brady and it was awesome. After the conference we got to stay with some other Elders , they have an apartment of 4, two gringos and two latinos. So we stayed the night with them. Somehow me and another gringo ended up buying 6 sandwhiches..... Suspicious. Anyways, yeah that was dumb too. So yeah stuff is all good for here. The new comp is ok. I liked him a lot more before this week, but it is ok. Seems like he always wants to tell people what they are doing wrong and stuff like that, so yeah interesting. I also gave up on talking a lot to try and save time cause he basically just reteaches whatever I teach. So yeah. Anyways, I learned a lot about love this week. Really that is what the gospel is all about. God loved us and Jesus loved us so They made a plan for us to be happy. Also from the conference, I learned a lot about revelation. True revelation is when we connect a thought and a feeling from the spirit together in unison. Mind blowing haha. As for today, we just hung out lowkey with the district and played cards and stuff. It was fun.

Se que este evangelio es un bendicion para nosotros para que podamos tener felicidad. Si realmente queremos tener gozo y felicidad podemos. Si no estamos feliz ahora, solamente es un breve momento y muy pronto Dios nos ayudara si tenemos fe.

Fishers of fish, or something like that

Woohoo another week
Yeah so not much new stuff to report. Still not going to baptize anyone. We had one investigator in church, if he counts. We went around on bikes before church trying to get people to come to church. So none of them came. So that was awesome. Oh we had the best testimony, by best I mean it was 30 seconds at the beginning of a testimony and the rest of the 8 or nine minutes was an incredible rant against the laziness of the branch. It topped all lengths of testimonies I have seen. It was amazing. Still amazes me. But yeah. Well we also taught a family home evening this week on Wednesday. It was awesome. We arrived at 7, which was late, and everybody else arrrived at 8:30, which was when it was supposed to end, but we started it then. After that it was good. We showed a video, talked a little, and then played that balloon game again. My team lost, I popped my last balloon all by myself, so I got myself out. Yup so it has been that kind of week all week. There is a lot of talk in our zone of faith, mostly because we all have like no numbers. It is interesting. On the bright side, we did reactivate a few people, for at least one sunday. What else happened... a ver, ah some people asked me to pray in english and that was interesting. I am glad that nobody here or that I am with can understand a ton of english, because I said some stuff that I know does not make sense haha. Yeah speaking english is pretty hard sometimes now, not that speaking Spanish is much better for me either haha. But yeah that happened. Oh also we did service for a member. We hand sanded the paint off of some windows and after that we painted them, and after that we made some serious ghetto gate thing because her dogs always jump out the window and bother people, so we broke like this ball of broken metal fencing that she had and made some sort of thing for half the window. Yeah that pretty much does it for this week. As for today... We went fishing with Elder Taylor and his comp. I have no clue how to spell his name so. But it was fun, just cause Elder Taylor is like my best guy out here. We have too much fun together. We spent like the first hour digging for worms and stuff, that was interesting. We found lots of spiders that may or may not have been venomous. Yeah that was terrifying. I hate spiders. So we killed a lot of spiders. Then we did not find like anything for bait so we used like bread and ham from some sandwhiches we had, still no luck. Then after like an hour of that we just made a fire and stuff, and it was fun. That was pretty fun. The place we went to was really cool. So yeah that has been my week. Take care my dudes

Here are pictures of stuff
